lived the funniest moment only to have the memory forgotten in a matter of weeks? Me too. That’s why I wanted to do this blog – at least that was why in the beginning. I know that I don’t keep it up to date and I regret all of the everyday things that have long since left my memory. For that reason alone, I want to attempt shorter, less witty posts. Those that when read 1 year from know will help me remember those moments and transport me back to the second they happened.
Here are some examples:
- Tonight at dinner, Allison proudly proclaimed “I’m going to graduate in 2020.” Wow – that is an amazing statement and not just because she’s now 7, but because that sounds a long ways into “space”. Especially when I was born in the 1900’s.
- This past weekend we went out to dinner and laughed so hard when we all used the “WIKKI STIX” to make funny additions for our faces.
- When asked if he was getting in trouble recently at a friends’ house, Ethan replied, “No. I only do that at home.”
- A few weeks before that, he was telling us about a friend that had been in a car accident. We asked, “Is he okay? Was his Mom or Dad driving? Is their car okay?” To which he correctly replied with the details that he knew. Then Ryan asked, “What happened?” Ethan looked right at him and said, “I don’t know, I wasn’t with him.”
Moments like these are ones that I want to always remember. So here’s to the sharing of simple everyday memories.
No go make some of your own.
